Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention   

    Our Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention course follows the content requirements established by the state of
    Ohio and outlined in rules 5101:2-12-27, 2-13-27 and 5101:2-14-13 of the Ohio Administrative Code.

    "According to the state of Ohio’s Rules For Licensing School Child Day Care Centers Section 5101:2-17-262, all Child Abuse
    Recognition And Prevention courses must include, but not be limited to, the areas listed below.  

           (a) Revised Code sections and Administrative Code rules pertaining to child abuse and neglect including definitions, reporting,
                and confidentiality requirements;


           (b) The physical and behavioral indicators of child abuse and neglect, both intra-familial and out-of-home;


           (c) Reporting. When to, how to, to whom, immunity, penalty for failure to report and system development for the center;


           (d) Investigation and the role of the public children services agency;


           (e) Information sharing concerning the disposition of report to reporting source, licensing agency, law enforcement agency,
                central registry, and court;


           (f) Helping families who have problems with child abuse and neglect;


           (g) Prevention of child abuse and neglect in day care, including staff training, staff supervision, policies and procedures, and
                handling of discipline."
